Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your Lyric Show Live account yourself, at any time, from inside the app — or ask us to delete it for you using the request form below. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

• iPhone / iPad: Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm in the dialog.
• Android and web: open the app, sign in, then Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm in the dialog.

You need to be signed in to delete an account — the app deletes the account you are currently signed in as.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything. We may ask you to confirm from the account’s email address, or to sign in and use the in-app button, if we cannot match the request to an account.

How long it takes

• In-app deletion: immediate. The server purge and the sign-in record are removed as part of the same request, and you are signed out when it completes.
• Email request: we action requests within 30 days of verifying them, and normally much sooner. We will confirm by email when it is done.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following from our systems, permanently:

• Your sign-in identity — the Firebase Authentication user created when you signed in with Apple or Google, including the email address that provider shared with us.
• Your entitlement record — your subscription tier, add-ons, the store transaction identifiers used to match your purchases across platforms, and, for purchases made on lyricshow.live, your Stripe customer identifier and web subscription status.
• Broadcast overlay data — your overlay token records, usage counters, and the anti-piracy trust profile, including the IP addresses and browser user-agent strings logged when an overlay URL was validated.
• Live caption relay data — the Realtime Database nodes holding your in-flight overlay text and overlay connection presence.
• Discord server links — if you used Discord live captions (Enterprise), the links between your account and the Discord servers you connected, and any link codes you generated that were never used.
• Discord caption usage — how many seconds of Discord live captions your account used each month, which we keep to apply your plan’s monthly limits. It is only a count; it never includes anything that was said.

In technical terms: your user document and every subcollection beneath it are recursively deleted from Cloud Firestore, along with the records linking your Google Play purchases to your account and any Discord server links, link codes, and caption-usage counts that belong to it; your stream and overlay-connection nodes are removed from the Realtime Database; and the Firebase Authentication user is deleted last.

Your subscriptions

• Bought on lyricshow.live (including Enterprise): cancelled for you, immediately, before anything else is deleted — you will not be charged again. Deleting does not refund the time left in the current billing period; if you would rather use it up, cancel from your account page → Manage your subscription, and delete your account once the period has ended. If the subscription cannot be cancelled, your account is not deleted — try again in a few minutes, or email us.
• Bought in the App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore: not cancelled — only Apple, Google, or Amazon can do that. Cancel it from that store’s subscriptions screen (on a Fire tablet: Appstore → Manage Subscriptions) before deleting your account, or you will keep being billed for an account that no longer exists.

What is retained, and why

• Purchase records held by Apple, Google, Amazon, and Stripe. The app stores keep their own transaction and billing history under their own policies and legal obligations; request those through Apple, Google, or Amazon. For purchases on lyricshow.live, Stripe, our payment processor, keeps the customer record and payment history, which we may need for tax and accounting. To have the Stripe customer record deleted too, email us.
• Payment notification log. When Stripe tells us about a change to a web subscription, we record the notification’s ID, type, and arrival time, so that a notification delivered twice is only acted on once. These records hold no account identifier or contact details, and they are not removed when you delete your account.
• Discord opt-outs. If you ran /lyricshow opt-out in Discord, that record is tied to your Discord user ID, not to your Lyric Show Live account, so it stays in place and the bot keeps ignoring your voice. Run /lyricshow opt-in to remove it, or email us.
• Aggregate session statistics. When a captioning session ends the app records which language codes were used, how long the session ran, and the platform. These rows live outside your user document and are not removed by the automatic deletion. They contain no audio, no caption text, and no contact details — only an account identifier that no longer resolves to a person once the account is gone. If you want these purged as well, say so in your deletion email and we will remove them by hand.
• Operational logs. Our hosting and database providers keep short-lived server logs (request timestamps, error traces) that may reference an account identifier until they rotate out on the provider’s normal schedule. They are not used for any purpose other than keeping the service running.

Data that only ever lived on your device

Some Lyric Show Live data never reaches our servers, so account deletion does not touch it — you remove it by deleting it in the app or uninstalling:

• Downloaded speech-recognition models and offline translation packs (Settings → Storage).
• Your AI Voice Adaptation profile (Settings → Voice Adaptation → Reset).
• Lyric files you imported into the song library, which are stored in on-device storage.
• Preferences such as language selections, theme, and display colours.
